Simon Pirani, British writer, historian and researcher of energy is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. Simon's most recent book book; Burning Up: A Global History of Fossil Fuel Consumption, was published by Pluto in 2018.
Paul Kenny from Tipperary Energy Agency will speak about retrofitting and improving energy efficiency.
Kate Ruddock from Friends of the Earth will discuss sustainable energy and community owned wind farms and energy.
Professor Barry McMullin of UCD will speak about deep decarbonisation of the energy system within a framework of a now dwindling remaining national “fair share quota” of the global CO2budget.
This event is open to the public, journalists, NGO's, stakeholders and legislators who collectively share the responsibility of changing Ireland's policy, procedure and outlook towards improving our approach to tackling climate change.
